Steven Murphy is a Blacksmith specialising in use of  hot forged metal. Having graduated in 2008 with a BA(hons)  in Artist Blacksmithing, Steven spent 18 months working for Ironart of Bath with other blacksmiths and metalworkers  to  improve his skills and gain knowledge of the business.
Using a mix of both traditional and contemporary metal working techniques Steven creates individual design lead works which draw heavily from his influences while remaining sympathetic to the enviroment in which they will be displayed/used.

Steven also makes prop weapons and provides his Services for the Film and Television industry working in the Armoury Dept. of HBO's Game of Thrones and making prop weapons for stage shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar which played in the Grand Opera house in Belfast.

Steven has also won awards for his work including the Stanley Allcard Cup for Outstanding Ability in the Craft of Blacksmithing, which is awarded by the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths in London and coming Highly Commended for his Teaching work at the Heritage Craft Awards in London 2013.
